The heart of the Seahawks beats strong because of our incredible coaches. Their dedication, experience, and passion for the sport create an environment where swimmers of all levels can thrive. From teaching the fundamentals to refining advanced techniques, our coaching staff works tirelessly to help each swimmer reach their full potential.
More than just instructors, they are mentors, motivators, and role models, fostering a team culture built on hard work, sportsmanship, and fun. Whether it's leading practice, cheering at meets, or offering words of encouragement, our coaches are committed to making every season a rewarding experience.

Coach DeNard started her love of swimming at the age of 12 and continued in the sport through college. She swam for South Dakota State University where she held records in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle. She was also a captain of her team in both her junior and senior seasons. After graduation, she started coaching for the Rappahannock Summer Swim League as well as Gar- Field HS, Brentsville HS and most recently Forest Park HS. She has over 20 years of coaching experience. Her favorite part of summer swim is that she gets to coach swimmers of all ages.
I started competing competitively when I was 7 years old for the Naples tiger sharks traveling around Europe to compete in different countries. When my family moved to the Virginia in 2015 I joined the Sea hawks to make friends and to continue swimming. It is on this team that my love for the sport only grew more. Then when Coach Denard took the head coach position she asked me to join her as a junior coach in 2017. We have been working together for every summer since then. I love coaching because it still keeps me connected with my favorite sport and it is nice to be able to bring the same joy I had in the sport to many more kids. The best part of coaching is celebrating with the kids when they beat their times have a good race or when they are just happy with their progress.
