Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in the Montclair Seahawks Summer Swim Team! We're ready for the 2026 Summer Season!

Open to All Families:
You do NOT need to be a Montclair resident to join the Seahawks! We welcome swimmers of all ages and skill levels. All legal swimmers can participate in Saturday morning meets.

Location:
The Montclair Seahawks swim at the Southlake Recreation Association, located at 5070 Higgins Drive, Montclair.

Steps to Join the Team:

1. Complete Online Registration (Opens 4/1 for returning families and 5/1 for new families):
   To stay updated as summer approaches, please complete the online registration. You can pay online via credit card or at tryouts.
2. Meet Schedule:
   The season includes 3 home meets and 4 away meets, including the Divisionals meet at Ashland. While attendance at practice is flexible, the real excitement happens at the meets! We ask that all swimmers commit to attending at least 2 meets and Divisionals at the end of the season.
3. Swimmer Evaluations:
   New 12 & under swimmers (and returning developmental swimmers) must attend the evaluation night on May 26th at the Southlake pool (Rain date: May 28th). To be on the competitive team, swimmers must meet the following criteria:

• Be 18 or younger on June 1.
• 8 & Unders: Be able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted.
• 9 & Overs: Be able to swim around two lengths of the pool (50 yards) unassisted. 
• Be comfortable and independent in the pool for a 30-45 minute practice.

Developmental Team:
Swimmers who cannot swim 25 yards unassisted may be placed on the Developmental Team at the coach's discretion. These swimmers must still be independent and able to follow instructions. More details about the developmental team will be available soon! 

Once the coach assigns your swimmer to the appropriate team, payment can be made in person at tryouts (cash, check, or credit card).

Swimsuits and Gear:

Gary from Sportsfair will be present at tryouts with official Seahawks meet swimsuits and other team gear available for purchase.

New Family Orientation:
We’ll host a New Family Orientation for first-time participants on May 20, where you can meet the Seahawks coaches and executive board. Learn about volunteering opportunities, how to become a swim official, and other ways to support the team! **Zoom link coming soon**
