You are receiving this message because you registered a new swimmer to join the Montclair Seahawks Swim Team for Summer 2025. Welcome! This is an extra special year as we are celebrating our 50th season this summer! 

The Seahawks Board and Coaches are thrilled to see so many new families registered for the team again this year. Please read this entire email as well as the attached document titled "What to Expect at New Swimmer Evaluations" for information on the evaluation process. We are also hosting our "Summer Kick-Off" zoom meeting on May 22 at 7 PM and would encourage you to attend. Evaluation Process: 
Our new swimmer evaluation process is not about "making cuts" but instead allows the Coaches to ensure that all swimmers can safely and independently participate in their assigned practices throughout the season. All new 12 & under swimmers, and those returning swimmers who participated on the developmental team previously, should sign-up for an evaluation timeslot. 

• Date/Time: Tuesday, May 27 from 6 - 8 PM
• Location: Southlake Recreation Association Pool - 5070 Higgins Drive in Montclair 22025.
• Rain Date is Wednesday, May 28 from 6 to 8 at the Southlake pool
• New 13 & over swimmers may complete an evaluation during their first assigned practice or can email [email protected] to discuss options.

Coach DeNard will make decisions about swimmers' eligibility to join the competitive team during evaluations. Decisions about the developmental team will be made a few days after the completion of evaluations. *Please Note: The developmental team does not start practicing until after PWC school is out*

• A swimmer's age group is based on their age as of June 1, even if they have a birthday later during the season. 
• Swimmers who are 8 & under swim 25-meter (one lap) races during meets. 
• Swimmers who are 9 & over swim 50-meter (two lap) races during meets. 
• Team suits (optional) and other equipment will be available for purchase during evaluations.
